Primary biliary cholangitis (PBC) is a progressive autoimmune liver disease that affects many women, young and old, from all walks of life.
Inspired by her mom’s courage in the face of PBC, artist and photographer Emily Blincoe explored and photographically documented the impact of PBC on several women from different backgrounds, lifestyles and points of view. She discovered the toll it takes on their lives, as well as those they love and care for, and how their outlooks have evolved since their diagnoses.
